DPA 1 MW Green Hydrogen Plant

L&T Energy GreenTech successfully commissioned its first commercial 1 MW Green Hydrogen Plant for the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) at Kandla, a significant milestone in India’s journey towards its ambitious green hydrogen vision.

This indigenously built plant, a first in India’s port sector is expected to produce approximately 140 metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually and aims to decarbonise maritime operations, in alignment with India’s Maritime India Vision 2030.

Cornerstone of this project is the 1 MW Alkaline Electrolyser module supplied & manufactured by L&T Electrolysers at L&T’s state-of-the-art facility in Hazira.

This project was completed ahead of schedule, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety throughout its execution.

IOCL Panipat 10 kTPA Green Hydrogen Project

L&T Energy GreenTech successfully commissioned its first commercial 1 MW Green Hydrogen Plant for the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) at Kandla, a significant milestone in India’s journey towards its ambitious green hydrogen vision.

L&T Energy Green Tech Limited (LTEGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has secured the prestigious 10 kTPA Green Hydrogen Generation Unit (GHGU) project at IOCL’s Panipat Refinery. Awarded under a 25-year Build-Own-Operate model, this milestone reinforces LTEGL’s leadership in India’s clean energy transition.

The project is part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to position India as a global hub for green hydrogen production, targeting 5 MMT annually by 2030. Under the SIGHT Scheme – Mode 2B, LTEGL’s winning bid has drawn global attention, showcasing India’s emerging cost competitiveness.

The green hydrogen generated will be blended with hydrogen produced via Steam Methane Reforming (SMR), enabling IOCL to gradually decarbonize operations while maintaining process continuity.

With integrated capabilities across electrolyser manufacturing, EPC execution, and project development, LTEGL is uniquely positioned to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions. The project will utilize high-efficiency alkaline electrolysers manufactured at L&T’s A M Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Make in India) vision.

This landmark project sets a benchmark for industrial-scale green hydrogen adoption and reinforces L&T’s role as a catalyst in India’s energy transition.
