Having been at the forefront of providing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions, L&T is aligned with the global energy transition, and decarbonization amongst other green energy initiatives which will help meet India and the world’s future energy needs.
A leader for decades in the Energy Industry, offering critical equipment manufacturing and EPC services for the entire energy spectrum, L&T has a rich history and a distinguished track record of addressing not only domestic but also international technology, manufacturing, and infrastructure demands. With global clients in sectors ranging from Oil and Gas to Steel, Thermal Power, Renewable Energy (including Solar and Hydel Power), and Nuclear Power, we are now leveraging our expertise in the energy sector to emerge as a Green Energy major.
L&T Energy GreenTech Limited (LTEGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, has a strategic vision to deliver Green Hydrogen and related facilities on a global scale.
At LTEGL, we understand the inherent challenges in the Green Hydrogen ecosystem. Our commitment is to contribute significantly towards global green hydrogen objectives, through solutions that prioritize safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
To this end, we collaborate with global stakeholders in advancing decarbonization initiatives worldwide. By leveraging our expertise and resources, we play a pivotal role in driving sustainable development and fostering a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.
Our vision is centred on three pillars – Green Manufacturing, Green Development and Green EPC while developing sustainable technologies through our advanced research and development capabilities.
As part of its ESG commitments, L&T has pledged to achieve water neutrality by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2040. Further, L&T’s climate leadership targets of LAKSHYA-2026 need us to reduce greenhouse gases footprint for itself as well as its clients by approximately 300 tonnes/annum. L&T Energy GreenTech, with its focus on Green Hydrogen, will be an integral part of the Company’s clean fuel adoption policy, and will be essential to fulfil the L&T Group’s ambitious Carbon and Water neutrality targets.
The Government of India has launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission that seeks to incentivise the commercial production of green hydrogen and make India a net exporter of the energy carrier. The mission has laid out a target to develop green hydrogen production capacity of at least 5 MMT (Million Metric Tonne) per annum by 2030. This will allow decarbonisation of refineries, city gas-grids, fertilizer, petrochemical, steel, and other hard-to-decarbonise sectors; reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels and feedstock; develop indigenous manufacturing capabilities; create employment opportunities; and design new technologies such as efficient fuel cells.
L&T is committed to supporting the Nation in this mission.
To enable the global energy transition by delivering sustainable, innovative, and reliable green energy solutions.
