L&T facilities and campuses operate within a bespoke ‘Green Campus Framework’ for offices and administrative locations. This is inspired by recognised global and national green building rating systems and incorporates a comprehensive set of sustainability indicators.
Offices and campuses are rated annually based on progress towards the set targets. The Green Campus Framework was rolled out in FY 2024-25, and is designed to be dynamic, with rating thresholds revised upwards each year, adaptable to include new areas and monitoring tools to assess the actions taken by the location.
This framework enables site-level sustainability assessments, fosters continuous improvement and supports certification readiness for green building accreditations. By institutionalising this approach, L&T is enhancing the sustainability quotient of its own campuses and setting a replicable example for sustainable workplace development.
L&T’s Hazira campus (A. M. Naik Heavy Engineering Complex) is a multi-facility campus that covers a Modular Fabrication Facility (MFF), as well as Heavy Engineering, Precision Engineering and Systems, Power equipment and Green Hydrogen Electrolyser manufacturing facilities. This modern, coastal complex is situated on a vast plot near Surat in Gujarat. The factory buildings cover over 34,500 sq. m. and the complex has a load-out quay on the banks of the river Tapi close to the Arabian Sea.
Hazira campus is equipped to manufacture extra-large and very heavy equipment for power projects, chemical, refinery, petrochemical & fertilizer industries, which can be shipped out via waterways.
The Modular Fabrication Facility (MFF) at Hazira, one of the largest of its kind in South Asia, can manufacture several large modules simultaneously with an annual fabrication capacity of 50,000 MT. In addition, L&T’s Hazira complex has one of the world’s largest Forging facilities, large scale Material handling capabilities, and a roll-on-roll-off slipway.
The Kattupalli facility, on India’s east coast, located near Chennai in Tamil Nadu, currently houses manufacturing facilities of two major businesses of L&T. Modular Fabrication Facility (MFF) Kattupalli is a state-of-the-art, all-weather waterfront facility specialising in supplying plants and modular systems built as solutions for the offshore, onshore oil & gas, and offshore wind farm industries, with the capability to deliver modules up to 6,600 MT. The facility is also certified on global standards including ISO 14001, ISO 50001, SA8000, and has authorisation to use recognised stamps and markings e.g. ASME U, EN 1090-1&2 etc.
L&T also has a globally recognised, state-of-the-art ship-yard for constructing and repairing ships and marine vessels at Kattupalli. The shipyard has multiple dry berths and wet berths that enable concurrent construction and repairs of multiple vessels. The facility is equipped with the highest capacity ship-lift in the country, designed and built by L&T and certified by Lloyd’s Register.
Kancheepuram, located ~75 kms from Chennai (Tamil Nadu), has facilities for various businesses of L&T. Engineering Works, a manufacturing facility for the Minerals & Metals business, undertakes fabrication and supply of plant & equipment for industries such as steel, power, and refinery. L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business has two facilities in Kancheepuram - a 24,000 MTPA Transmission Line Tower Works with latest CNC lines for fabrication of towers and a National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited Transmission Line Testing & Research Station (TLTRS),one of the largest tower testing stations in the country.
L&T’s Rubber Processing Machinery business has its manufacturing facility for rubber processing machines and tyre automation systems for the global tyre industry, supplying equipment to tyre majors in over 46 countries. L&T Valves Limited too has its main manufacturing facility at Kancheepuram for a wide range of products such as Gate, Globe, Check, Ball, Butterfly, Double Block Bleed Valves as well as automation solutions.
In addition to these, this location has an R&D facility (Water Technology Centre) for the Water & Effluent business, a training facility (CDC) for the Transportation Infrastructure- Railways business, temporary works capability centre for Heavy Civil Infrastructure, integration facility for the Renewables business, a Service Centre for Construction & Mining Machinery and a Data Centre (part of Larsen & Toubro Vyoma).
L&T’s Sohar facility comprises a Modular Fabrication Yard LLC (a joint venture of L&T and the Modern Channels Services L.L.C., Oman). The facility possesses the capability to fabricate and load out a range of complex structures for the Oil & Gas industry like large offshore Process Platforms, Jack up drill Rigs, SPAR/TLP & Modular Process Plants. With an annual fabrication capacity of 60,000 MT, it caters primarily to projects in the Middle East and North Africa region.
This is an all-weather yard, a first of its kind in Oman, and has significantly augmented Oman’s industrial capability since 2007 with its state-of-the-art facilities for heavy fabrication, sophisticated equipment for testing and load-out of ultra-large structures. The multi-cultural workforce at Sohar reflects L&T’s belief in spreading progress by sharing progress. The intensive programme at L&T’s training centre is committed to upgrading of skills and standards of the local workforce.
L&T’s Kansbahal Works is located near Rourkela (Orissa) and is the state’s largest heavy engineering unit in the private sector. It is a world-class Integrated Machine Building Centre with facilities for Casting, Fabrication, Machining and Assembly, complemented by excellent design, engineering, quality control and logistics support.
The facility produces Crushing and Screening systems, Pulp & Paper machinery, Windmill components, Cast products, Mining equipment and various other specialised industrial products.
The Kansbahal Works R&D wing is equipped to carry out process engineering, mechanical design / analysis, 3D modeling, Finite Element Analysis, and basic and detailed engineering.
L&T’s Coimbatore facility houses the Precision Manufacturing & Systems Complex, one of the key manufacturing facilities for the defence and aerospace sectors. This sprawling 52-acre facility caters to Build-to-Spec and Build-to-Print requirements. The entire complex along with the ecosystem are aligned to global defence & aerospace standards in safety, quality, security & environmental commitments.
In addition to this, there is also a manufacturing facility for L&T Valves.
The Coimbatore campus is one the best facilities of the Company in terms of implementing its sustainability principles. Energy efficiency, water use efficiency, sustainable waste management are key focus areas and help in minimising the environmental impact from its operations.
Pithampur Works is the largest manufacturing facility of L&T's Power & Transmission business, with an annual capacity of 1,00,000 MTPA and produces galvanized steel components (both angles & plates) for a range of power transmission line towers.
The plant is equipped with the latest CNC lines for fabrication of towers and microprocessor-based, temperature-controlled eco-friendly systems for galvanization of tower members. The Works has one of the biggest (13 x 1 x 1.5 m) galvanising baths in the industry and certified on various ISO standards including ISO 50001.
The Strategic Systems Complex (SSC) is a state-of-the-art facility set up by L&T at Talegaon (Pune) in Maharashtra. It is one of the finest facilities for realization of series production and proto versions of Strategic Weapon Platforms, Sensors and Military Engineering Systems.
Cross-functional teams such as Design, Engineering, Project Management, Production, QA/ QC & Supply Chain operate from SSC in a cohesive manner to make this unit the best-in-class facility in its domain. The facility is specially designed to undertake manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing of a wide range of complex Defence products.

L&T Construction’s Headquarters at Manapakkam in Chennai is acknowledged as an 'Outstanding Corporate Green Campus'. Spread over 27 acres, amidst scenic eco-friendly surroundings with ample greenery, almost every concrete structure in the campus has won prestigious awards for excellence in construction and has green features which add to its aesthetic value. Today, the campus accommodates 1.4 lakh sq.m of built up area and has a significant tree carbon sequestering capacity.
Besides businesses of the Construction Group, the campus houses offices of L&T Technology Services and the iconic Henning Holck-Larsen Centre.
The L&T Knowledge City at Vadodara in Gujarat is the hub of several key businesses of the L&T Group. The L&T Energy-CarbonLite Solutions business, L&T Energy-Hydrocarbon Onshore business, L&T Technology Services and the engineering joint venture L&T-Sargent & Lundy operate out of this facility. The Knowledge City campus offers single point design engineering and development solutions for core sector industries.
The facility takes a lead in green initiatives and is recognised for its sustainability efforts. The campus handles e-waste disposal in an environment-friendly manner through authorised e-waste recyclers. It segregates solid waste to ensure proper disposal.
Powai, in Mumbai is the location of L&T’s oldest facility - one of the most diverse in terms of employee strength and operations. Along with the L&T Energy, Heavy Engineering and Construction business offices, Powai houses our world-class Design and R&D labs and an Experience Centre – Planet L&T.
The A M N Tower at Powai is a LEED “Platinum” certified Green Building and has significantly lower electricity consumption over regular commercial buildings. With a rooftop solar (80 KW) and an open access arrangement, we have taken steps to further reduce the carbon footprint of the building. It also leads the way with other environment conscious initiatives from rainwater harvesting to organic waste composting.
The Faridabad campus, designated as an IT Park, houses the offices of various L&T businesses including L&T Sufin, L&T Edutech, LTIMindtree and L&T Technology Services, as well as business units of Water and Waste Water, Railway Business, Buildings & Factories, Heavy Civil, Power Transmission & Distribution, L&T Renewables, L&T Realty, L&T Energy - CarbonLite Solutions.
In line with L&T's commitment to sustainability, the campus manages waste disposal responsibly by segregating dry, wet, hazardous (used oil) and e-waste; waste disposal is done through authorised waste processors. 100% of wastewater is treated and reused within the facility through effective Sewage Treatment Plants, thus ensuring zero liquid discharge from the campus. Additionally, the campus has a rooftop solar installation which helps reduce its carbon footprint.
